This e-portfolio documents my learning from the Fanshawe Early Childhood Education Program (ECE7) in the context of my long-standing career working with children. The contents centre around a selection of artifacts created during my college training, placement and work in the field.
My work experience with children who are deafblind has immersed me in a large variety of learning communities and helped me to develop a set of unique skills. I have many years of experience working with children to develop strong relationships that promote healthy development as part of complex, multidisciplinary teams. The ECE program has helped me to expand on this knowledge and reflect deeply on my values in the field such as positive guidance, child-guided curriculums and a focus on well-being.
This portfolio will demonstrate that I see children, families and educators through a strength-based lens and believe in being a guidance professional who views children as "competent, capable of complex thinking, curious, and rich in potential" (Ministry of Education, 2014, p. 6). Thank you for taking a moment to look at my work.
